Engine dies when hot and try to give it a lot of gas to accelerate or cruise at highway speeds

1966 ford f250 with 352 ci with Mallory distributor (light diode), MSD ignition, 4 barrel edelbrock carb, new plugs and wires. All new except carb. Bought truck with this setup...starts right up, runs great until it gets hot then when I really accelerate engine dies out...I pull over wait 10-15 mins then it runs okay until I get home...never runs real strong...once it is cool it runs great until it gets hot again. Timing is good, gas and filter are good, have not messed with carb. Any ideas?

sounds like a vapor lock issue with fuel pressure. it should be no more than 7 lbs as it will unseat the needle and seat.

try a clear filter in line to see the fuel hot and see if it is boiling with air bubbles.
