Can I put an new model engine in this old model car?

We only recommend direct fit parts. Keep in mind, anything is possible, but the new engines are set up for sensors, computers... It isn't worth the investment. It will take another 20 years to regain your initial investment.

Oh ok, i was asking about a newer engine to raise the gpa. So what's a smarter way to upgrade my gpa when i get a older model car like the 1966 Deville?

The best thing to do is make sure it is properly tuned, and the carb and choke are properly adjusted. That is as good as it gets. If you were to install a newer engine, then you are dealing with computers, sensors, solenoids... none of which your car was ever intended to have. It is possible, but the cost and work far out weigh the benefit.
