Driving the Vette tonight. Low mileage since I had a rebuilt 327 installed. Has run really well up until now. Was cruising on the highway, and when I got to the off-ramp and came to a stop, smoke started pouring out of the tailpipe, and the car was running very rough. Went where I was going and started the car a few minutes later. No smoke, initially, but running rough. Then back on the highway, and when I got off again, it started smoking. Not right away, but after I was at a stoplight for a few seconds, quite a bit of smoke came out.

What the heck is going on?

Thank you, guys. Really appreciate the help.

I said that I restarted a few minutes later. It was a few HOURS later when I restarted and there was no smoke.

Thanks!

Did you check the engine oil level? Problem seems to be oil related.

Any idea about the mileage you have covered since the rebuild?
Was the vehicle taken for long rides since?
What was the running time when problemoccurred?
Was previous engine smoking badly?
