1949 Ford Tractor 8N

Tractor when running the voltage is all over the place and there is no constant voltage across the battery. Is this normal?

Thanks,

it dependson what speed it is. As this is a generator it is going to be low at idle then higher with reves. make sure regulator is in good shape and working and belt to generator is tight. you might think about adapting an alternator to it as it would charge at idle. Generators normally don't.
