Engine Performance problem
1995 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 110,54 miles
Good afternoon
I have a 1995 Chevy Lumina APV with the 3.8L V6. My check engine light has been coming on for a while now but now she is starting to run rough.
I looked under the hood on the emission sticker & it says OBD1 so I figured I would jump the A & B terminals to get the codes.
When I went under the dash the A terminal was there but no B terminal there are only three pins the A top right one under it & another on the botom.
Now it looks like an OBD1 connector the emission label says OBD1 but there is no b terminal.
So my question is can I jump this & if so what pins do I use?.
I have been looking for a code reader but everyone I have seen says 96 & latter $69. not bad then I found one that reads both OBD1 & 2 this is $200. a little much.

No it has the 12 pin ALDL this is what I can't understand as the A pin is top far right the B pin should be right next to it but it is empty.
In the past this is how I use to jump the OBD1 A & B.
Having said that I checked out a code reader for OBD1's but when I read the manual it said the only 95 Chevrolet it will check is the Caprice 4.3L.
It went on to say even though some 95's had the 8-12 pin connector it was a diffrent ECM used!
This code reader was only $30.
So do I have to buy one that checks both OBD 1 & 2's at $200. I just don't get why it says under the hood OBD 1 no B pin & now I read diffrent ECM.
