Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Volvo 760 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 90000 miles
Last week I became a member but I did not have time to wait for an answer on repairing my cruise control. The biggest problem was finding where it was and what it looked like. There were hints here: " vacuum pump". The good news. I got to where I was going (Oregon to Montana) and was poking around the engine compartment and I noticed a vacuum actuator that paralleled the linkage from the the accelerator. So I started tracing the vacuum lines and found that the lines had split at each of the connection barbs through out the system. Cutting those splits off the tube removed the leaks and then the system worked properly. That shows up the problem of an older auto and plastic and rubber parts - they get old. The actual cruse control system itself was rock solid. It work great all the way back.
Thanks for the site.
