1986 Volvo 740 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 248000 miles
I am repairing a strut on a volvo. I am not a mechanic but handy. First, the initial problem is the locking ring has come loose, and I was told to replace the strut.
The instructions state I need to release the steering rod from the steering arm. I am having trouble releasing the steering rod from the steering arm. Is this necessary? It says do not hammer on steering rod end of nut, and a puller might be necessary. What is a puller, and where would I get one?
Any other tips on how to do this job, or links to instructional vids/pics is greatly appreciated.
