I'm driving a 2004 VW Passat (1.8 turbo) w/ 58k miles and recently 2-3 seconds after braking I smell something that is rubbery, like either a belt or clutch type smell. I believe it has to do with my braking system and was assured that the pads were in good shape about 2 months ago. Any ideas on what could be creating this smell? I believe that I have disc brakes as well.

I felt my tires after a short ride and my fronts were warm and my rears were cool. This may be normal due to Front wheel drive but found it interesting. Any help would be great! Thanks
