I have a 2002 Jetta with manual transmission. Recently I have noticed while the car is in gears, and at low RPM's 1800-2200 a rattling sound coming from underneath. It goes away if I depress the clutch, or if I shift into neutral.
I have had my car into the mechanic recently because the check service engine light was on, and was told it was due to the Catalytic converter. This after they checked all the O2 sensors. The mechanic stated that this was a known problem that I could deal with, or I could get a new converter. I chose to deal with it, and two weeks later the liught went off. Now, with this new problem, the light is back on.
Could these two things somehow be related?
have the same problem?
