2003 Volkswagen Jetta Tune up?

Okay so I just bought a 2003 jetta with only 55000 miles by owner and it has really slow accelration and once the rmp gets to about 30, the car feels like it is almost being pushed. Sometimes there is like a bucking, kind of knocking noise when I am going really slow. I mean I doubt I need a new transmission because of the low mileage. Do you think I need a new tune up? What could it be?

Hi there, you should do a full tune up and a scan to check for any unresolved fault codes, also get a fuel sample taken from the filter and check for any contaminants such as water, start here.
