I hear a very annoying noise coming from the engine compartment. Don’t believe the engine itself is the source. It sounds like a fast high pitched metallic clatter. Have ruled out engine knock, valve chatter, preignition fuel octane etc. Engine runs smooth. The kicker is that the noise only occurs at 2,100 rpm +/- 100. It occurs as the engine speed passes through this range when shifting through all gears and when cruising at or passing through 2,100 rpm driving down the road. Suspect a bearing, belt, or pulley issue that may resonate at that precise engine speed or harmonic. Any idea where to look? Engine compartment is pretty tight to just start poking around. Thanks for your help. It’s a nice low mileage 2016 class C motor home and the noise ruins the RV experience.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention noise occurs with or without A/C running. Also noise does not occur when revving through his engine speed not in gear (neutral).
