Has the fuel filter been changed recently? Do you have good B+ and ground at the pump? Is this a tbi system, are the injectors even spraying gas? Yeah, sounds like a pump.

Yes the filter has been changed recently but upon checking that I found they put the filter on backwards. Changed no help the injectors are spraying. I tried dropping the tank, when I did noticed that its out of gas. Stupid I know the gage said it had a 1/4 tank never thought of it. Gunna try putting gas in it and see what happens will let you know

O.K. So I tried something and it least now it drives. But it doesn't nearly have the same power. Is there any effects that the replaced ACS( Air control Sensor) could have caused while it was down? I also replaced and EGR solenoid. My truck was tuned up in June but sat since about August.
BOTTOM LINE. What I replaced seemed to work. And was cheap. BUT is there any possibility of anything else messed up. Cant afford anything major (already sacrificing my Starbucks to have paid for the parts I did already)
THNX for any help.

My poor husband and I are beside ourselves with my truck. The issues is when the truck is cold it will start up fine no problem, however when it gets warmed up it starts acting like its running out of gas. We have replaced fule pump, throdle body, distributer and the cap, new spark plugs and wires, fuel injectors, oil change, and oil filter. Can aaaaaaanyone please help in maybe an idea where to turn to next? At this rate we have far more money invested in my truck to just walk away from it now.

In your list of replacement parts, I didn't see fuel filter. If the fuel pressure regulator isn't holding enough presure at the fuel rail it will starve the injectors and make it stall. It may sound stupid but, you creating a vacuum in the fuel tank?

Sorry, Yes the fuel filter when the pump was repaced.

Is there a relay or something that could cause this to happen?

No, there is no relay I can think of that would cause this. Let's go back to basics.
Do you have, or have you had a "check engine" light?
The engine coolant temp sensor may be giving the computer a false reading saying that the engine is warmer than it is, thus giving the engine too lean a mixture. Please advise, I have an idea but, it rests on the check engine light.

With 265,000 miles, how many times have you changed the electronic control box (Black)on the injection pump? You said you change the fuel filter, did you change both of them? The primary and secondary? After you change the fuel pump and it runs good for one day do you have to change the fuel pump again so it'll start up 1 2 or 3 days later? When it starts to misfire and will not run any more, do you check the fuel filter to see if it's out of fuel? When it starts to misfire do you check the voltage at the injection Pink wire? And tell me if you have an engine light on when it starts to misfire or all in all the time? If you could answer all my questions I would appreciate it, it will help me help you, diesels are very hard to figure out when they've got problems, but are still one of the most reliable vehicles.

At times engine will start as normal but will not hold idel. Some times truck will be ideling for a few minuets and enging will die. Engine runs great when being driven down the rods. It has died when coming to a stop after a long run, but had plent of gas in tank. Fuel pump has been replaced. Whai is causing engine to stall.

A couple things come to mind like a sticking egr valve or a faulty idle air control valve. First try unplugging and blocking the vacuum line to the egr valve and see if the problem goes away.
