1963 Other Triumph Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

amp meter unsteady so had gen. Rebuilt, new bushings, cut arm. New brushes, amp meter same problem, cant recall if over charging. Replaced volt reg, charging at 30+amps, lights on about 15, 20 amps. Checked wires from gen. Cheched +grd. Wire on battery, replaced again regulator. Have repair manual for the tr4 went through all checks, reg. Never kicks out have cooked two batteries. Cleaned all wire connections. Before I started all I had was a jumpy amp meter, what seemed to be a simple operation has now become a nightmare. Any ideas?

Regulator is adjustable take off cover and you will see a screw on cutout. Connect volt meter and adj to cut out at 14.5 14.8V
