Car gets stuck in high gear had the transmission rebuilt sixteen months ago and replaced recently. It is putting out a code P0985.

that is a shift solenoid problem have a transmission professional scan it as there is a short someplace it may be in harness, connection , or solenoid. Or a valve body problem. they may take care of it where it was rebuilt.
