1990 Toyota Pickup 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 200K miles

I was backing into my garage and a sound (like a spring popped) came from under the dash. I didn't think much of it. Next day I went to drive it and the switch to start didn't hit when the clutch pedal was depressed. So I hit the override and started up and on my way. It was really hard to shift and finally it won't let me shift at all. The clutch was replaced about 50K miles ago. Could the pedal assembly gone bad? When I still use the clutch it still has some catch to it and will roll to a stop. Thanks.
