I have a 2000 toyota solara SLE V6 with about 40,000 miles on it. In very cold weather, ( 20 degrees or less ) I sometimes have a problem with the drivers side door latch. After opening the door in the morning, it cannot be closed. The latch is not grabbing the door lock striker. When moving the latch with my finger, it feels like there is no resistance at all, unlike the one on the passenger side, which still works and has a slight resistance to movement. After 20- 30 minutes of running the car, the latch once again operates correctly and keeps the door closed. The car also has power door locks and a remote for the doors if that makes a difference.
Any ideas?
