2003 Toyota Highlander 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 69000 miles
I love my Highlander, but it just failed the state safety inspection for the right rear pads being almost metal-to-metal. The left rear and both fronts are fine and all rotors are fine, according to the inspector I've used for years. I had that garage replace both rear brake pades and the mechanic tells me the rotors are below minimum thickness, and have to be replaced. He says Toyota uses "soft metal" so they wear out faster. I have an apparent conflict between "experts". Can you confirm any issues with 2003 toyota rotors or their estmated wear out? Thanks.
have the same problem?
