2003 Toyota Highlander 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 69000 miles
I love my Highlander, but it just failed the state safety inspection for the right rear pads being almost metal-to-metal. The left rear and both fronts are fine and all rotors are fine, according to the inspector I've used for years. I had that garage replace both rear brake pades and the mechanic tells me the rotors are below minimum thickness, and have to be replaced. He says Toyota uses " soft metal" so they wear out faster. I have an apparent conflict between " experts". Can you confirm any issues with 2003 toyota rotors or their estmated wear out? Thanks.
