My husband changed my thermostat in my car yesterday and later when I was driving, it started smoking and idling real low. It eventually started going dead every time I stopped. He took everything back apart today and put my together and still this is happening. Please help! This wasn't going on at all until he changed the thermostat.

Is the coolant level correct? Are you seeing smoke or steam?

Coolant level is correct. It's black smoke.

Black smoke is fuel, check that all leads are on correct spark plugs, check firing order as well, if you had the leads off you may have a couple crossed over.
