2002 Toyota Corolla Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 66500 miles
I am going to buy a 2002 corolla 1.8 xli, I would like to know one thing. My friend told me no need to change timing belt for 2002 models, that is life long. The mentioned car ran around 66500. If I want to change the belt when I want to change.
Toyota switched from belts to chains in the late 90's I believe.
The timing chain has no scheduled replacement time, so you would not need to replace it, you can take off the cam cover and inspect it if you want.

The problem you got here is you don't have a belt-what you got is a timing chain.
