Firing order

3rd plug from #1. #1 is closest to the assy drive (alt. PS). Cylinders are 1-2-3-4 from assy side. Firing order is different from cylinder location.

Ps. Do you have 560,000 miles or 56,000? :) I would change the plugs, use NGK or Denso Iridium.

Rotate engine to TDC #1. Remove dist. Cap. Rotor should be pointing at #1 spark plug wire. #1 is first cylinder on assy. Side (alt, AC, WP).

Remove dist. And adjust so rotor is pointing at #1. Rotation is counterclockwise on 4AFE engine.

(1)Cylinder No. 1 is located at timing belt or timing chain end of engine. Cylinder No. 4 is located at flywheel end of engine. Timing belt/chain is 2/3 in middle 4 at flywheel.

(2)System uses a Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) with 2 ignition coils. Cylinders No. 1 and 4 use the same ignition coil. Cylinders No. 2 and 3 use the same ignition coil. See Fig. 2

(4)Cylinder No. 1 is front cylinder on right side of engine when viewed from flywheel end of engine. Cylinder No. 2 is front cylinder on left side of engine when viewed from flywheel end of engine. Cylinders No. 1, 3 and 5 are on right side of engine. Cylinders No. 2, 4 and 6 are on left side of engine.

(5)System uses a Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) with 3 ignition coils. Two cylinders fire simultaneously using same ignition coil. See Fig. 3

(6)Cylinder No. 1 is front cylinder on left side of engine when viewed from flywheel end of engine. Cylinder No. 2 is front cylinder on right side of engine when viewed from flywheel end of engine. Cylinders No. 1, 3, 5 and 7 are on left side of engine. Cylinders No. 2, 4, 6 and 8 on right side of engine. See Fig. 5.

You shouldn't get the back firing if its wired correctly if so there's something else is wrong

An idle that high indicates a vacuum leak. Look at fuel injector seals, intake manifold gasket, PCV valve or any hose connected to manifold vacuum.

Also check your base timing.

If a vacuum leak is bad enough, it will cause loss of power, high idle, misfiring and an extremely lean A/F ratio.
