Engine Performance problem
2006 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 40500 miles

The RPM's go down when the car is idle, but only when the AC is on. The AC blows very cold to not so cold every few minutes. I am told I may have an alternator problem?

Do you
have the same problem?

I don't think so if the battery light on the dash doesn't light up. I am leaning towards you idle air control valve (which is responsible for engine idle speed) being malfunctioning.

Go to an auto parts store (such as CSK/O'Reilly) and they can test your electrical system (battery, starter, alternator) for free.
