Remote trunk release is not working

How to fix it? It works by keys and with manual lever located near driver seat. Trunk cannot be released with the remote control, what could be the problem? What part is needed to fix it? How much it gonna cost me? Can I fix it myself?

please help me.
Model is 2007 Toyota Camry LE, 4 door.

When you operate the remote can you hear the truck latch actuator click? If so the latch is bad, if not check the system fuses. The latch prices is 57.00 at the dealer and you can do it yourself with simple tools.

The problem the trunk has to be slammed hard to latch. It has inside release, key release, and remote release. All work fine to release latch to open.

Hi there,

The lock and or slam plate will need a fine adjustment, best get a body shop to do this, or if you try it your self, you will not have to move it very far at all.

2005 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I'm driving a 2005 toyota camry. I have no idea why I could not open the trunk by the interior button, but I can use the key to open it. Could you tell me how to fix it? Thank you

Hi there,

Check for power at this wire, (indicated) with the button pressed, if yes, the motor is faulty, if no you will have to get a mechanic to check the circuit if you have not the expertise to do so. Note, if the dome light is working, the fuse for the boot release is ok as it is a shared fuse.

Our trunk has, for a couple of years, not opened by the key "automatic feature". The trunk light has also ceased to work for past couple of years. The light may occassionally work for an instant as the trunk opens or closes - and not at the completely "opened" trunk position. So we have been opening the trunk externally only with the key, and from the cap - by pulling the release lever located to the left of the seated driver.
For the past two weeks we have noticed that closing the trunk requires "slamming" to get the catch to engage.
Recently - for about a month - the trunk pops open when the driver is seated and a) releases the parking break, b) when the driver turns on the headlights, and c) when the driver is driving down the road [without any known cause].
Now, too, we notice that when the trunk is closed, on the car's left side, the top of the trunk is no longer flush with the left rear quarter panel, but the trunk lid is depressed beneath the adjacent panel edge. It seems that this alignment may be "off" and affecting the latching mechanism, but this still doesn't make clear to me all of the reasons for the trunk popping open while driving, releasing the parking break or activating the lamps.
Have you heard of any trunk problems like this before?

Hi there,

The latch plate will require re adjusting, the hand brake will have no bearing on his problem. Get the boot lid realigned if off. Then have the lock latch re adjusted. Make sure that the cable that opens the lock via the solenoid is working as well.

Remove any inner boot lid trim to access lock, there will be a plastic clip for the actuator and a metal clip that locks the lock assembly into the boot frame, when you see it it should be quite evident how it is removed.
