2001 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 140, 00 miles

When I step on the gas pedal of my 2001 Camry (Manuel trans./ 4-cylinder) I find so much resistance that I have to hit it real hard to get it “Unstuck". It sticks only periodically- approx only once every 20 minutes of driving. Everything looks good visually. There are no obstacles in way of the pedal. The throttle position sensor and cable looks like they are in good shape.

Try cleaning out the throttle bore plate could be sticking due to carbon/varnish-
