Hi,
Let me say thanks.
I saw in your web site about Toyota Camery 1997 how to open cabin air filter.
As described I have opened cover but I do not see any thing there that I can pullout
air filter. Can you please help me?

Once again thanks.

Girish

Some vehicle do not have the filter. Does it look like there is a mount for it?

Cabin air filter replacement:
1. Open the glove box. Remove the screw with a Phillips-head screwdriver and slide the hook as shown.
2. Push each side of the glove box to disconnect the claws.
3. Remove the filter case from the filter outlet.
4. Remove the filter from the filter case.
5. Inspect the filter on the surface. If it is dirty, it should be replaced.

Installation
Reverse removal procedure.

Front wheel drive.

While changing cabin air filter and cleaning out a mouse nest I broke off a solid piece of something right above the filter, it appeared to be hinged. I left it out and everything seems to be working fine but I want to know what I broke and if it will cause problems by not having it fixed?

Hi Suecasb,

I am not sure what is broken but around the area, it should be something that is not going to affect anything important.

Only thing that is plastic above the cabin air filter is the housing for the fan/filter. This should not cause any sort of problem.
