I have a 99 Camry that doesn't like to start in the early mornings or if it has sat in the garage for more than about 24hrs. We recently had the car in for a major tune up and the service shop said that our battery and charging system was perfectly normal. The car usually tries to start, turns over and then promptly stalls. This can be repeated for a few minutes till the engine seems to catch and then barely seems to stay on with the engine running around 500rpms at idle. Once the car had warmed up and be driven the problem disappears. Any thoughts?

Have the shop perform an injector and fuel pressure regulator leak test to make sure the pressure isnt being over night. Try this, turning the key on for 5 seconds then off, repeat this 5 times, will this cause the vehicle to fire right up? If so its bleeding off the pressure.

If not change the coolant temperature sensor. That is causing a lean fuel mixture.
