I'm trying to replace the fuel filter but i'm having problems with the lower connection of the old filter. It's rusted on really bad and if I end up twisting off and tearing the fuel line at the connection what can I do quickly to fix it?
These are one of the hardest filters to change. What I do is remove the top fitting, and unbolt the bracket off the inner guard. Carefully twist the filter & pipe down enough to see the union nut. There is a fair amount of give but be carefully, then using a good quality 14mm pipe spanner and also using a spanner to hold the filter, you should be able to easily undo the fitting, bay be give it a good spray and let it sit for a bit first.
