In the engine compartment fuse box-remove the EFI fuse for 10secs-if the OD light comes back-you have a problem with VSS and shift solenoids 1 and 2.

Electrical problem
1994 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have just fitted a second hand transmission into the cvar, the transmission fitted didn't have a electrical device fittied the same as the old one. This is a little round solenoid(or like a solenoid) fitted to the old transmission down where the l/h axle half shaft exits front the differential, now the overdrive light flashes when the overdrive button is in the on positiion. I believe the solenoid is for a function in this model where a little switch is located next to the gear select lever inside the car marked ECT. I think the light is just flashing because it thinks there is a fault in the transmission, however because the new transmission does not have this fitted I think I should just refit the wriring plug with the wires joined so the transmission thinks there is no fault. Any other ideas whould be greatly appreciated.

When stopped at the light, when driven, it takes the very much power to go forward, like it is missing the first 2 gear and forwarding on the third gear, put solinoid, but it is doin the same thing.
Thanks

Get your coolant temperature/throttle position/vehicle speed sensors checked out. The computer takes in the signals from these sensors to command the transmission to upshift/. Downshift/overdrive/lock-up

My 1991 Toyota Camry's Over Drive light is blinking lately while driving. I not experience, see or hear any unusual overall functioning of the car. But it concerns me if, later, this would result in a sudden problem when I am on the road.

Please shed some light on this matter/issue.

This is the first time I am visiting your web-site. I do consider to make donations once I get familiarized and establish a comfort level with your web-site.

Thanks.

When was the last fluid and filter changed? Might want to have these sensors check-coolant, throttle, and vehicle speed sensors to include the brake switch for normal operation. These sensors gives info to the computer to control overdrive, upshifting, lock-up of the transmission.

Recently my overdrive light on my dash board started flashing. Light does not flash when overdrive is switched off. When accelerating from standing still to normal speeds, gear change is soft and drawn out. Any suggestions on what might be the problem would be much appreciated.
