Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Toyota 4Runner 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 168000 miles

Check Engine light came on approx. 500 miles ago (167,500). AutoZone diagnosis determined P0171 code (syst too lean). Engine continues to perform with no noticeable problems. Aside from the annual NC state inspection reqs, should I be concerned, or leave it alone? Engine air filter has been changed.

Note: I've seen countless blogs of this simple light compelling drivers to multiple repeat visits to mechanics only to have the Check Engine light come on again (not to mention the $$$ invested).

Anyone successfully (and affordably) found the 'cure'?

For what its worth, I did add a pint of STP fuel injector cleaner with a new full tank of gas around the time this nuisance light appeared?

Thanks,
