How to replace throttle body?

I have a 2008 Suzuki forenza, my check engine light is on. The car jerks when I go about 50-70mph and during start up and sometimes stalls. I took my car to autozone and they said that my throttle position sensor is bad. I called the dealer and he said I would have to change out the entire Throttle Body, which parts and labor would be about 750 dollars. Auto zone sells the Sensor for about 65 dollars. So my question is can I go this route or do I have to change out the entire throttle body. If I can change out the sensor, where can I find the sensor on the throttle body and how do I replace it.
Thank you very much for any help.

Hello,

This car has a drive by wire throttle body so you cannot replace the TPS sensor separately IDK why autozone lists one, they shouldn't. I would try to service the unit before replacement here is a guide to help you see how. Start by disconnecting your battery.

Please run down this guide and report back.

I have the same issue as do many with check engine light on and the codes that come up are the tps and gas pedal position sensor. Many have had the dealership fix the "problem" and still have issues sometimes worse after fixing it. There is no recalls on this car, I have less than 50,000 miles on mine. Any suggestions on what it could be? I don't want to take it to the dealership because they have already tried ripping me off so many other times. Two years ago my air bag light wouldn't go off in passenger seat and they said I needed a new battery, went with my gut and didn't replace it and guess what. The battery is still going just fine.

If you get a scan tool that can read live tps and pedal position data and a multi meter we can do some testing.

Make sure all throttle body is correct and if the throttle position sensor is the the same and plugged in, check for codes as well, there is no set up or calibrations required.

That is most likely an electronic throttle system and the TPS is likely not serviceable separately. You may have to buy a whole throttle body.

All gears light up overlapping in the led next to the odometer. The car****** hard while in motion and the rpms rev up but the car moves like a turtle and occasionally (if moving out of park) the car won't go into gear without a hard*****. Transmition replaced at 36000 miles. Computer reads the check engine light as a TPS problem but do I have to purchase the whole throttle body or just the sensor?

There were not any specific instructions for removal of the TP Sensor. They are usually just an electrical connection and three screws that hold them on. Sometimes they are held on with rivets and you may have to drill them out. I found a diagram I am attaching showing its locations and it is an easily accesible place, so it should not be hard to do.

Engine codes say that the throttle position sensor is bad. I have the new part, but I do not see this sensor on the throttle body. Is it hidden behind a cover?

First, a code does not identify bad parts just failed systems.

What is the code?

It is on the throttle body.
