The temperature gauge rises when going uphill and returns to normal as soon as I am not climbing. It doesn't lose power or smell hot.

It sounds like the radiator is partially plugged are the fan clutch is not working. This guide will help.

Thank you for this post I checked it out and had to replace the radiator it was plugged! all fixed I love this site.
