I have a 2006 grand vitra. The brake pedal goes down almost to the floor, if you pump it, it's fine. I've had the front pads replaced about 8 months ago. I've taken the car to the dearler twice and to mr. Tire twice. Everyone says the brakes are fine. I thought if the master cylinder went bad, you could not pump it back to full pedal. The car does have abs brakes. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

Hi wmejames,

If the pedal sinks slowly after initial resistance, the master cylinder is failing. It is leaking internally and pumping or sudden braking works but holding the pedal would result it it sinking gradually.

When the pedal sinks to floor and holds after pumping it, there could be air in system. Get the system bled and retest.

Is rear brakes disc or drum?
Do you have brake fluid losses?
