Engine Mechanical problem
2006 Subaru WRX 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual 52,000 miles
I have a 2006 Subaru wrx, not a sti. It is running the " boxer" four cylinder engine on a horizontal plane (thats what I found) and it is turbo charged. I had problems with the car cutting and left me stranded. Turns out it is the fuel pump. I am confident that I can fix it, but want to know if it is in tank and the easiest and quickest way to switch it out. Do I have to drop the tank? Is there a way I can get to it through the trunk, and where is it located? Inline fuel pump or inside the tank? The reason I am asking is because the vehicle is at the dealership. They diagnosed it for my wife, and I want to make sure I can do this. If not then while it is at the dealership we will just let them do it, it may cost an arm and a leg, but if I am unable to do it then I have no choice. Thanks!
