Engine Cooling problem
1987 Subaru Wagon 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 200000 miles

MY '87 SUBARU WAGON IS RUNNING HOT BUT NOT ACTUALLY OVER HEATING. THE HEATER WORKS GOOD AND WHEN I TURN IT ON IT USUALLY HELPS THE ENGINE COOL DOWN. I NOTICED THAT THE RADIATOR HOSES RUNNING TO THE ENGINE BECAME COMPRESSED, ALMOST LIKE THEY WERE SUCKED FLAT FROM A VACCUM AFFECT. IN FACT WHEN I OPENED THE RADIATOR CAP THE VACCUM WASA RELEASED AND THEY WENT BACK TO NORMAL. I'M HONESTLY NOT SURE WHERE TO START WITH THIS PROBLEM, THANKS- KYLE

Try replacing the thermostat and inspect hoses if its collasped that can be blocking the coolant flow and then get back asap
