Engine Performance problem
2004 Subaru WRX 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual 60,000 miles

Ok so I have a Dilema, in about a month im trading my 2004 R6 for my cousins 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI and paying the difference. The thing is at 5500rpm in every gear the car throws a misfire code in every cylinder. So basically after 5500 rpm it has a inconsistant accelleration and seems to hesitate. Just wanted to know if you guys have herd of this problem before and weather or not it would be an expensive fix and if you know of the specific cause. Ive herd that it could be the turbo inlet pipe, Piston rings, or even just an electrical or tuning issue. The only mods the car has is a aftermarket Turbo back Exhaust. The car has 60,000 miles on it and it also had an issue with the DCCD AWD system that caused a clunking noise when turning or backing up only when the DCCD was in Manual mode, this issue was fixed but I herd that the DCCD can cause misfire issues, so maybe it just needs to be retuned since the DCCD was fixed. IDK HELP PLEASE! Also the ABS sensor light was on and the sensor that was faulty was replaced, the ABS light then went off. The check engine light and Cruise control light both flash then stay on and go off eventually unless you push it harder past 5500rpm, then they stay on until the car is restarted. O and my cousin said its had the issue since he bought it almost 2 years ago, also the aftermarket exhaust was on the car since he bought it. Thank you

Do you
have the same problem?
