Engine Cooling problem
1998 Subaru Forester 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual 108000 miles
When taking long trips the engine temperature will fluctuate above the cars normal running temperature, but does not overheat. This only happens after I have been driving for several hours. After the temp increases the overflow coolant tank becomes too full and overflows into spilling coolant into the engine compartment. This problem does not occur on shorter trips, even if the car is driven hard. I am thinking I should replace both the thermostat and water pump, but if anyone has any idea as to the specific component that may be causing this, it would be very helpful
have the same problem?
