I attached a wiring diagram of the ignition switch. Verify power to both sides of the switch from the fuse block. Make sure there is power there with the key on.

If that is good, then test for output power at the bottom on the highlighted wires with the key on.

Okay Roy, I have some information and need some info you had me check 2 wires going in and then you have 5 brown, orange, yellow, white, and pink are those wires coming out of the back of the ignition plug that I replaced and the wires I need to check are the bigger ones correct. I'm sorry but I can't make heads or tails of that wiring diagram. I don't have much knowledge of wiring except what I have taught myself.

Okay, the 2 wires at the top are inputs to the switch. Make sure there is a power to those wires. Use a test light or voltmeter. The colors are listed.

The ones on the bottom are outputs. Make sure those wires have voltage with the key in the on position.

Okay, good job.

Now, go to the fuse block under the hood. There should be a wire to it that is secured by a nut.

Check the voltage there with the key on.

Would it be worth my time to rent a code reader and see if it has any codes that could cause the problem I'm having?

No, that will not tell you any readings at all.

You need to do manual testing.
