Please explain the "start issue" in more detail.
Most interested in the "not starting" part.
Does it "crank" (turn over/ crankshaft rotates)?
If it does "crank",
It just does not "Start" (bust off!/ Run)?
If it does crank, is it "trying" to run? Spit, sputter or is it nothing but dry over and overs?
Or does the starter not do nothing at all? (Maybe a bad starter)
More to keep your end testing before you report back.
Do you know how to check for spark during the time it is acting up?
A really quick way to see if you have a fuel problem or an ignition problem when it is acting up.
Remove the breather top off of the carburetor.
Give it a one second burst (spray) of starter fluid (carburetor cleaner will work too! I have even used hair spray when nothing else was available!) Into the carburetor throat. Spray it into the area where the choke butterfly would close.
If you have a gas can, one teaspoon of fuel into the carburetor will work. (Giving a few options here!)
Quickly put the breather top back on (if it were to backfire, this would prevent a possible fire)
*** It is always a good idea to have a fire extinguisher handy!***
Now attempt a start!
What does it do?
Run for a moment? Or tries better than before (if yes, you have spark, some anyway, maybe a fuel problem)
No change? (Maybe no spark, may need to check for spark a different way)
Results thus far?
