Yours is under the intake manifold which make the job a little tougher but you can do it.

Battery off (use a memory saver if you can or you will loose radio function until you code it again) remove any under engine covers, there will be 2 wires on the starter one heavy and one small, remove these heavy will be a 12mm nut and small push on, starter is secured with 2 bolts, undo and carefully remove starter.

I have a 98 Chevy S10 and we have my truck jacked up and the battery h hooked but he says that my alternator needs to be lowered to get it off can that be a problem? Does that happen? He said it looks bigger then a normal one should be in it
