The speedomter quit working and the ABS warning lite came on at the same time. Is there a fuse or breaker that needs to be replaced or do I need the pcm reset or replaced?

You need to scan for codes to see if the vss and or a sensor is bad for abs. A pro has to do that

Transmission problem
1990 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual 200+ miles

This truck has over 200,000 miles on it but in good shape. I had it painted last week and when I got it back I noticed that the speedometer was not working.I pulled the cable end out of the transmission, took the cable out, hooked up a drill to it and it operated the guage needle. I did the same with the gear back on the end of the cable. I replaced the speed sensor and reinstalled with the old driven gear. It worked sporadically for a few days but now does not work at all. What do you think the problem is?

Suspect faulty speed sensor or faulty wiring to speed sensor. You should follow test steps below to pinpoint the exact problem though.

Just bought a truck and the speedometer doesn't work. How is the cable routed? Does it go to the transmission, transfer case or rear end? Also does it run in the vicinity of the radio wiring inside the cab?
Thank you

I have a 98' ford f-150 I replaced the speed sensor for a new one, even tried out another speedometer cluster and still the speedometer does not work, all the other needles work fine. And once in a blue the speedo jumps for a few seconds then it goes back down. What could be the prolem? Please help.

The speedometer stopped working. The odometer is still working along with all the gages. What could it be?

If the odometer works but speedo doesn't then it's more than likely the speedo head and will need repair.

The transmission still has a over firm shift and occasional shutter going in and out of overdrive. I am going to try fluid filter first. Anyone having the same issues run down the solid green and solid red wires for speed sensor in rear differential. I bypassed the yellow with green stripe wire from just below the tank to the cab for the gas gauge, could not find the short, took me two weeks and $30.00 and Mr Ken to find these three wires.
