Here is the engine spark plug firing order. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
Cheers

Four cylinder front wheel drive automatic.

What is the firing order and where do you put the wires in the coil pack?

So if this is the engine

1-2-3-4
Front of car.

Where would the cylinders go on the coils, which lies straight across?

0-0-0-0
Front of car.

I replaced my valve cover gasket a week ago, and after I put everything back together I messed up on the order of the spark plug wires. Before I put the spark plug wires in the correct order I was having engine difficulty. The car would start but the idle was not smooth, it was jerking. Once I placed the spaark plug wires in the correct order it seemed fine. Until it began to jerk again once I started it. After it began to idle at 1,000 rpm it seemed fine. I let it warm up and put it in first gear, it would speed up fine but once I put it into second gear it would hesitate but it would speed up fine until I got around 3,000 rpm and the engine began to go in a bucking motion. The Service Engine Soon light came on once it began to buck. What can be the problem? Thank you for your help.

The wiring order for the spark plugs are in 4123 from left to right, same on the coil pack. The coil pack has corosion so I think I shouls test it with an o meter. Could this be happening because of a back coil pack?

Looking at the engine the cylinders from left to right are 1 2 3 4 then you connect them on the coil from those number's like connect the dot's like number 1 to number 1 position on the coil's. If You have corroded coil tower's then I would start with that nothing to test there. Your going to have to replace your plug wire's and try cleaning your coil tower's or replace your coil's that are corroded. Use a scotch brite pad a red one to try cleaning it. If it is really corroded just replace the coil if you can't clean the tower completely and still have the wire's snap on and stay on tight replace the coil.
