Engine Performance problem
2001 Saturn SL1 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 85000 miles

MY CAR IDLES TOO HIGH AT STARTING ENGINE THEN LEVELS OUT IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES UNTIL I PUT IT IN GEAR. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I PUT IT IN REVERSE OR DRIVE, THE ENGINE REVS UP AND GETS UP TO 30-40 MILES AN HOUR WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR. AS I DRIVE ON THE ROAD YOU CAN TELL THE ENGINE IS RUNNING A LITTLE TOO HIGH. OTHER THAN THAT THE CAR RUNS FINE. ALSO THE TIMING BELT HAS NEVER BEEN REPLACED COULD THAT BE SOME OF THE PROBLEM? CAN YOU HELP ME?
