1993 Saab 9000 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 110000 miles
I was driving down the road and the car locked up and skidded to a stop and stalled. You can engage the clutch (it is new) and start the car but it won't shift into gears. It seems like the gear shift is not where it hould be. When the car is started and the gear shift appears to be in the neutral position. When you disengage the clutch the car moves for like it is in gear and when you appear to put it in reverse it reverses for about 5 feet then locks up.
What is the problem and how can I repair it. Does it need a new gearbox? Transmission? Does the linkage have any thing to do with it?
