1989 Other Rover Models V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual 240000 miles

3.5 liter range rover engine " refreshed" ie new rings and bearings. Bores honed & Crankshaft linished before rebuild. 270 deg mild cam installed 4 deg advanced 52 deg overlap.
Existing hyd lifters faced and re installed. Checked for valve spring bind OK. Injectors professionally cleaned, petrol tank cleaned, new fuel punp, new fuel filter, new fuel regulator. New spark plugs, new HT cables all accessable electrical connections checked. Thermostat checked OK, new water pump. No airleaks can be found, checked by spraying hydrocarbons on piping etc while engine running. No RPM pick up seems OK. Run 1/2 hour on Dyno at full load (about 60KW at back wheels) engine very hot, Scope shows electrics in good shape no problems, engine runs faultlessly during test. Outside on 104deg day no engine power and it backfires. On a cool day say 70 deg F car runs fine acceleration and performance as expected for this old engine. Engine oil 20-50W as recommended. I an at my wits end please help this Aussie amateur fix his car.
