Electrical problem
2001 Renault Scenic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 72,000 miles

Recently the speedometer gave up. On the instrument cluster everything else works perfectly, i.E. Tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, etc.
Any idea? Is it a common problem? Likely to be a fault in the cluster or at sensor end/drive from the gearbox (I'm not sure of the input to these things - mechanical conventional type or electrical).
