Renault Laguna 1996 valve noise!

Hi I have a 1996 laguna 2.0 rt 8 valve, but according to my book it shows my engine with tappets with shims on top which you can remove, whereas my engine has tappets that are similar and look like the ones in a 16 valve engine (the hydraulic ones) I dont think I can change the shim thickness on my ones as they dont have the recess in the top for the shim to sit in. Are these right for my car or has someone done a dodgy? Cheers gav.
