I drive a 1990 Renault 5 with 128,000 miles on the clock. When I drive along I the car chuggs. It usually happens when I'm driving on the motorway(60-70mph) but the odd time it happens when i'm doing 30-40mph. The engine is also experiencing problems when sitting idle. It is not ticking over properly and sounds like it is really struggling to stay on. This sometimes causes the engine to die when stopping at lights. A couple of weeks ago I got the oil changed, new spark plugs, new leads, new points, a new distributor cap and a new fuel filter in the hope that this would resolve my problem. Please help because I love my car and don't want to have to get rid of it. Cheers.
