I have been told by a mechanic that 'the shells have gone in the engine. This followed identifying that the reason the oil and stop light on the indicator screen was showing up as a consequence of barely any air pressure flowing through. As I have no idea what this means I feel I have to accept whatever I am told. How big a job is such a problem to fix? I have been told it will cost me alot of money aand possibly part ('short engine') replacement. Does this sound right to you?
Do you
have the same problem?

Firstly could you please describe the symptoms of the fault .. apart from the light's being on ? .. it seems highly unlikely your shells have gone on a 2004 vehicle unless you drove around for a while with the oil light showing ? .. I think your technician meant OIL pressure not air pressure flowing ? ..

let me know
