Rear axl;e assembly dismanttel

Im tryihg to remove the axlles in order to remove the backing plates to replace them. While doing the brakes posi rear for a 4x4 short bed, the baking plates are rusted out I want to replace them. It has rear disc brakes what is proceedure for removing the axles to get them to release so I can pull the axles out so I can get at the backing plates?

You have to pull the pan off of the axle and pull the pin in middle of carrier then pull the c clips holding the acxles in. Then push axles in to get clips out then pull themout. See pic
