Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Pontiac Montana 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello
I have a ticking noise coming from the steering column of my 2002 Montana, often when on a bumpy road, and when making a right hand turn. A mechanic friend took a look and said it was the actuator, part number 26097679. It was replaced but the problem still exists. The actuator is physically positioned on the steering column, and that device is what is making the ticking noise. It appears to be a symptom, not the cause. Can someone advise me.
thanks
Andy.
