1996 Pontiac Grand Prix, 175,000 miles, 3.1
About a 2 weeks ago while driving my car it started cutting out - complete loss of power, RPMs would bottom out however if I continued to press the accelerator it will stutter but usually will continue to go. It is periodic I drive 30 miles to one way to work running normal speeds of about 65-70mph it will cut out 1-2 times and sometimes die - It will restart or will jet like I have just pushed the accelerator to the floor when it kicks back in. It does this at all driving speeds and when sitting in park idling. I have had multiple random misfires with it idling rough for 2 years while idling - when I get the RPMs up sligtly it has ran smoothly until this new problem. I have a new code including P1655 - EBCM/EBTCM serial data circuit, but don't have any clue if the ABS system could be causing what seems to me to be some type of fuel problem. Any ideas where to start?
